Maalox® Nighttime Antacid + Acid Reflux Barrier has a great taste and texture, and is designed to quickly relieve heartburn pain and acid reflux. It contains an alginate which forms a viscous gel (often termed a raft) that floats on the top of stomach contents. This raft then acts as a mechanical barrier to restrict gastric juices from refluxing upward.

Treatment of mild to moderate symptoms of burning sensation in the chest. Commonly occurs after meals, can occur when lying down (e.g. when sleeping).
 
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. This product should not be used in patients with hypercalcemia, intestinal obstruction or severe renal function impairment, except on the advice of a physician. Do not take this product for more than two weeks, or if symptoms recur, unless directed by a physician. Do not take this product within two hours of another medication because the effectiveness of the other medication may be altered. Individuals with kidney disease should not take this product except on the advice of a physician. Do not use if you are pregnant or on a low salt diet. SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING.
Adults: 2 to 3 teaspoonfuls, after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Do not take more than 60 mL (12 teaspoonfuls) in a 24-hour period.
